End grain wood

Meeting the end grain wood ...

It all starts in the forests of the Jura where we select the most beautiful hornbeams known for their higher fibre density than oak.
Then it's a story of men and tradition. We have chosen a manufacturing method controlled by our establishment for over a century.
We use the so-called "end-grain" wood, which is sawn perpendicular to the trunk fibres (as if it were cut into slices).
The resulting paving wood are assembled one by one to make up the cutting board.

Wood, a living material ...

Wood has always been the material of choice for furniture manufacturers. Renowned for its sturdiness, the "end grain" wood resists all shocks and blows from the blade.
As these are applied in the direction of the wood fibre, the cutting plan can neither crumble nor break.
Realized according to the NF food hygiene standardyour Chabret block will remain always smooth and healthy.
